Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Lexome ("Lexome," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Lexome mobile and desktop apps and the website at getlexome.com (together, the "Service").
Lexome is operated by Amine Si Bachir, an independent developer based in Algeria. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, email us at support@getlexome.com.
In short
- We collect the email you sign up with, the words you save to your Vault, the professional field and English level you tell us, and basic usage and crash data.
- To create your definitions and daily stories, we send your saved words and chosen field to Google's Gemini service, which generates the text.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not see your payment-card details — Apple handles payments.
- You can access, export, or delete your data at any time.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Amine Si Bachir (operating as Lexome), Algeria. Contact: support@getlexome.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information. The email address you register with. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive the name and email (or Apple's private relay email) that Apple shares with us.
- Your learning content ("Vault"). The words you capture and save, any notes you add, the professional field or domain you select, and your self-assessed English level. This content is the core of the Service.
- Communications. Messages you send us, for example support requests.
- Waitlist (website). If you join the waitlist on getlexome.com, the email address you provide.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and product-analytics data. In-app events such as screens viewed, words captured, and stories opened, linked to a pseudonymous user identifier. We do not include the text of your words, your stories, or AI prompts in our analytics.
- Diagnostic and crash data. Error and crash reports that help us keep the app stable, linked to your user identifier.
- Device and pairing data. Technical information needed to pair your desktop and mobile apps and keep your Vault in sync across devices.
Information we do not collect
- We do not collect or store your payment-card details. Subscriptions are processed by Apple and our subscription provider (RevenueCat); we receive only your subscription status, never your card number.
3. How we create your definitions and stories (AI processing)
To provide word definitions and your daily stories, we send the words you save and the professional field you choose to Google's Gemini service, which generates the text on our servers. We do this only to produce your content. We do not send your name, email, or payment information to the AI provider, and we do not use your content to train AI models. AI-generated text can occasionally contain errors — see our Terms of Service.
4. How we use your information
- To provide the Service: store your Vault, sync it across your devices, and generate definitions and daily stories personalized to your field and level.
- To manage your account and your subscription.
- To keep the Service reliable and secure, including diagnostics and abuse prevention.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the Service is used so we can improve it.
- To communicate with you: service messages, support replies, and — only if you opted in — waitlist or launch updates.
5. Legal bases (for users in the EEA and UK)
- Performance of a contract: to deliver the Service you sign up for.
- Legitimate interests: to secure, maintain, and improve the Service (analytics and crash reporting), balanced against your rights.
- Consent: for optional communications such as waitlist or marketing emails, which you can withdraw at any time.
6. Who we share data with
We rely on a small set of trusted service providers to run the Service. We do not sell your personal data. Our providers include:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and backend hosting.
- Google (Gemini) — generates definitions and stories from your saved words and chosen field.
- Apple — App Store distribution, Sign in with Apple, and payment processing.
- RevenueCat — manages your subscription status.
- PostHog (EU) — product analytics.
- Sentry (EU) — crash and error reporting.
- Cloudflare — website hosting and delivery.
- Tally and Loops — waitlist form and launch emails (website only).
Each provider processes data only as needed to perform its function for us.
7. Where your data is processed
Your data may be processed in the region where our database is hosted, in the European Union (analytics and crash reporting), and in the United States (for example Apple, RevenueCat, and Google). Where your data is transferred outside your country, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
8. How long we keep your data
We keep your account and Vault while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data and Vault content within 30 days, except for limited records we must keep to meet legal or accounting obligations (such as transaction records).
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR in the EEA and UK, or the CCPA in California — you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email support@getlexome.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
10. Deleting your account
You can delete your account and its associated data at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Account), or by emailing support@getlexome.com.
11. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, row-level access controls on our database, and scoped access for our service providers. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
12. Children
Lexome is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with an updated date and, for significant changes, notify you in the app or by email.
