Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Lexome (the "Service"), operated by Amine Si Bachir ("Lexome," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Lexome helps you build English vocabulary: you capture words from your reading, save them to a personal Vault, and receive daily stories that reuse those words in your professional field. Features may change over time as we improve the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Lexome. By using the Service, you confirm that you are.

3. Your account

You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity that happens under your account. Keep your login secure, and tell us promptly at support@getlexome.com if you suspect unauthorized use.

4. Subscriptions, trials, and payments

• Lexome offers auto-renewing subscriptions (for example, monthly and annual plans) and may offer a free trial that automatically converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends.
• Purchases and trials are processed by Apple through your App Store account. Apple is the merchant of record: it charges you, sends billing reminders, and handles refunds under its own policies.
• Your subscription renews automatically at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings.
• Current prices are shown in the app before you purchase. We may change prices going forward; any change will not affect a period you have already paid for.
• Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with App Store policy. We generally cannot issue refunds directly.

5. Your content

You own the words and notes you save to your Vault. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit your content only as needed to provide the Service — including sending your saved words and chosen field to our AI provider to generate your definitions and stories. We do not claim ownership of your content, and we do not use it to train AI models.

6. AI-generated content

Your definitions and daily stories are generated automatically using AI. While we aim for high quality, AI-generated text can contain errors, inaccuracies, or awkward phrasing. It is provided for language-learning purposes only and is not professional, educational, medical, legal, or financial advice. Please use your own judgment.

7. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the Service. In particular, do not: break the law; attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, decompile, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems; resell or redistribute the Service; or use it to generate or store unlawful content.

8. Intellectual property

The Lexome app, brand, design, and software are owned by us and protected by applicable law. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or software, except the right to use the Service as intended.

9. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. When access ends, your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (such as content license for already-processed data, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate or fit for any particular purpose.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lexome and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Algeria, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new date and, for material changes, notify you. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
